Banff Attractions
One fateful day in 1883, Canadian Pacific Railway construction
workers discovered a cave containing hot springs deep in Alberta's
Rocky Mountains. No one could predict the magnitude of this
discovery; it would lead to Canada's first national park - the
world renowned Banff National Park.
The Park is a hiker's paradise. It boasts over 1,600km (1,000mi)
of trails, more than any other mountain park. Whatever the
adventurer's pleasure, one can find anything from a one-hour jaunt
up a mountain to a month long backcountry excursion into the lonely
wild regions of the magnificent Canadian Rockies.
One of the best features of Banff National Park is the way in
which it seamlessly blends commercial development with
environmental integrity. This is most evident in the area's golf
courses. Mountains, valleys, streams and lakes coexist in harmony
with carefully manicured fairways and greens to orchestrate a
golfing experience sure to rate as one of the most memorable
experiences to even the most discerning golfer.
With its celebrated combination of world-class conference
centres and natural wonder, it is no wonder that Banff hosts
so many business events throughout the year.
