Andrew Lugsdin    
Partner - IT Venture Fund, BDC Capital
Andrew is a partner in the IT Venture Fund. He joined BDC Capital in 2001 and is based out of Vancouver, BC. He has over 20 years experience in the IT and telecom sectors.

Prior to joining BDC Capital, Andrew was the founder and president of a consulting firm for early-stage high-tech companies, providing business planning and development services. Previously, as Vice President of Sales and Client Strategy, he helped transform a Vancouver-based professional Web services firm into a Canadian leader. Andrew also worked for a number of years as a software engineer at Nortel and as a consultant for the DMR Group.

Paul Austin

SDTC supports clean technology innovation and demonstration in the energy, waste, water, buildings, transportation, and agriculture/food sectors.  The SD Tech FundTM focuses on solutions that address climate change, air quality, cleaner water and soil. Since inception in 2001, the SD Tech Fund has invested ~ $1B in ~ 300 demonstration projects across Canada.

Paul’s career has been in heavy industry, large systems integration and clean technology business and corporate development. He has worked at Mitsubishi Corporation, Hughes Aircraft Company, Raytheon Systems, as well as Canadian corporations such as Telus, Mobile Data Solutions Inc., and start-ups in e-commerce and technology enabled environmental services. Paul has worked throughout North America, Latin America, Europe, and Asia. Paul opened SDTC’s first regional office in 2008, and is based in Vancouver.

Warren Bergen
President, AVAC Ltd.

With over 15 years of experience in the technology industry Warren brings a breadth of experience that spans star-up and growth stage sales & marketing, finance and venture capital investment. His background illustrates a highly relevant blend of entrepreneurship and early stage investment experience spanning angel, venture capital, and public market. In technology operational roles, his experience includes IT sales and marketing leadership, integration contracts, and channel development. He has also been instrumental in the capital raise for a number of technology companies. Warren holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Saskatchewan.
